Education
Educating current and future specifiers about hot-dip galvanizing is one of the AGAs most important initiatives. The Galvanize It! seminars and the University Program are the two major outlets for providing education to enhance the knowledge of architects, engineers, and other specifiers. The FREE Galvanize It! seminar series is available in three different formats: in-person, online, and as a webinar. All versions of the seminars are approved by various providers for continuing education credits. The seminars were updated in early 2017 to include the most current galvanizing information and provide a better learning format.
The University Program includes on-campus presentations, tours of galvanizing facilities and/or galvanized projects, and the Galvanize the Future: A Richard L. Brooks Memorial Scholarship essay contest. The goal of the Education Program is to educate students about the hot-dip galvanizing process, design, sustainability, performance, specification, cost, and inspection. The AGA is actively involved with the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) to help further the knowledge of these future specifiers.
