A key feature of hot galvanized products (HDG) is longevity in various environments. As with any manufacturing process, hot dip galvanized finish requires an inspection to ensure compliance with the relevant product specifications. One factor is scrutinized minutely during the inspection of hot steel is galvanized finish and appearance of the galvanized surface. The platers can control some features of the final look, but not others. A surface condition is known as oxidation stain storage (often referred to as white rust), which can occur after galvanizing.
