Steel in Action: Innovative, Resilient and Cost-Effective Case Study Projects

July 8, 10, 15, 17
1:00pm ET

Bridges received a major boost from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), including $27.5 billion for the Bridge Formula Program and $12.5 billion for the Bridge Investment Program. Yet with estimated bridge rehabilitation needs totaling $191 billion, the funding only goes so far. Strategic asset management and routine maintenance remain essential to prevent further deterioration and avoid expensive future repairs.

To make the most of this investment, bridge owners and designers must deliver cost-effective, resilient structures that meet growing demands and stand the test of time. With a range of innovative materials, design strategies, and protective systems now available, there are more opportunities than ever to build sustainable bridges that serve communities well into the future.

To support this effort, the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance (SSSBA) and the American Galvanizers Association (AGA) are co-hosting a free four-part webinar series for bridge owners, designers, faculty, and students. The series will feature expert-led case studies showcasing real-world, cost-effective, and resilient short span bridge replacement projects. Each session will also cover essential topics related to the design and construction of steel bridges.

Galvanize It! Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel for Parking Structures Webinar

July 30th, 2025
12:00pm ET

In today’s market where land is scarce, parking structures are becoming a necessary element to developments and campus designs. With projects today facing more and more questions and challenges requiring expert advice, we’re helping owners and designers realize that steel-framed parking structures have a clear advantage in economy and durability. Whether it’s choosing between current use of the parking structures, or adaptability for future use, specifying a building material that meets financial goals without sacrificing the entire project’s design intent is the challenge.

The Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel for Parking Structures seminar provides an overview of the social, economic, and environmental benefits of incorporating hot-dip galvanized steel in parking structures. Seminar content includes how galvanized steel benefits the overall look, safety, and construction of the garage, as well as the economic savings during construction, use, and over the life of the parking structure, sustainable advantages, and more.
