Thanks to the effort of the Zinc Coalition, primarily directed by Eric Van Genderen of the International Zinc Association, proposed legislation in the California Senate has been revised to exclude the language banning zinc in tires.  However, the revised bill effectively encourages California Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) to review environmental impacts of the various applications where zinc is used and this may bring a higher level of scrutiny on all galvanized products. 

AGA is a member of the Zinc Coalition and unfortunately find ourselves in need of this group more and more to fend off the attack of zealous groups wanting to remove naturally occurring zinc from use in products benefiting society.
