Zinc supply forecasts by producers in the past few years have been known to be optimistic, that is foreshadowing a deficit in the near future.  In an article in the Saturday/Sunday December 21 & 22 edition of the Wall Street Journal, several metal analysts weigh in on 2014.  Based on significant mine closures, supplies are predicted to tighten.  However, the unknowns of demand for refined zinc by China, the new LME rules loosening outflow from warehouses, and consumer demand may dampen the shortfall.  Read the article.
