During the Technical Services Committee (TSC) review process required for the  development of a “white paper” designed to explain the limitations of galvanizers to control coating appearance to a committee comprised of American Association of State & Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and National Steel Bridge Alliance members writing a standard for certifying galvanizers, several reviewers suggested the “white paper” would also be a great tool to educate fabricators and project owners. 

Although much of what the ‘white paper’ contains is also included in many of our publications in bits and pieces,  it is a concise, general statement of what galvanizers can control in the process, what fabricators can control with respect to the steel they supply, and the grey area in between.  To view this educational document, click on the link HERE.
