FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 7, 2020
Centennial, Colo. - The American Galvanizers Association (AGA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Melissa Lindsley to the position of Executive Director. She will be transitioning into the position over the next six months with the full support of the current executive director, Philip Rahrig, who is retiring in Q4
Ms. Lindsley has been with the AGA since 2005 and for the past 13 years serving as Marketing Director. In that time she has become the driving force in our industry’s digital marketing and communications strategy, and developed a broad network and collaborative experience within key influential organizations such as the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), National Steel Bridge Alliance (NSBA) and many others.
In addition to developing a keen technical acumen about the galvanizing process and its products, she has a deep understanding of architects, engineers, and specifiers in the markets served by the hot-dip galvanizing industry. She has also been instrumental is working with key experts to define and quantify the industry position on sustainable development, and create the important messaging of the industry to all those as concerned with our environment, future society, and economic frugality as the galvanizing industry. According to AGA President Daniel Bever, “Ms. Lindsley is a passionate advocate for all things to be hot-dip galvanized and committed to the continued growth and success of our great industry.”
Dear Melissa. Congratulations on your promotion to ED, please pass on my best wishes to Phil who during the time I was the Technical Marketing Director of Hot Dip Galvanizers Association Southern Africa (HDGASA), considerably helped me with interesting projects taken from your annual awards event to flight in the HDGASA magazine Hot Dip Galvanizing Today under the annual World of HDG around us. It was always a pleasure looking through the exciting projects that the members of AGA got involved in. While I have retired from the HDGASA but since late in 2015 was appointed as editor and producer of Corrosion Exclusively (CE) a quarterly magazine for the Corrosion Institute of Southern Africa. I have thoroughly enjoyed this role particularly as I have ensured that hot dip galvanizing (which I am still extremely passionate about), is given the exposure to our readers that it deserves. With this in mind we would greatly appreciate you allowing us to re-use some of your awards projects in subsequent editions of CE. Back issue copies can be viewed on www.corrosioninstitute.org.za/category. Thank for your consideration. We look forward to your response?
Hi Terry, We are happy to allow the use of our projects with attribution. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
