Clean Energy Steel Construction Center Launches New Website and Expands Industry Outreach
The Clean Energy Steel Construction Center (CES), a collaborative program led by the American Galvanizers Association (AGA), continues to advance its mission of promoting domestic steel and high-quality zinc coatings across clean energy infrastructure. This fall marked several exciting milestones, including the launch of the new CES website and continued industry education through technical presentations.
The newly launched website, cleanenergysteel.org, serves as a central hub for information on CES projects, market insights, and educational materials focused on solar, transmission, and distribution applications. The site highlights how U.S.-produced and galvanized steel supports more durable, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions across renewable energy markets.
In September, CES delivered its first Galvanize IT! Solar Presentation, which drew over 200 industry professionals and emphasized the importance of corrosion protection and coating performance in solar applications. This session marked the start of an ongoing effort to engage engineers, EPCs, and developers in understanding the long-term lifecycle benefits of galvanized steel. A copy of the Solar Galvanize IT! Presentation is now available for galvanizers to use in their own outreach efforts and can be found here.
Additional initiatives are already underway, including a forthcoming Solar Post: HDG vs. Bare Steel marketing document, an educational and visual comparison highlighting coating performance and service-life expectations for buried solar posts. CES has also launched a Solar Coatings Website Article and initiated a joint project with the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) exploring the use of high-strength steels in transmission towers, aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing competitiveness and reducing reliance on imported lattice structures.
The CES looks forward to building on this momentum in 2026 through continued outreach, technical publications, and strategic partnerships that reinforce the essential role of galvanized steel and zinc coatings in America’s clean energy transition.
The CES, is a member-funded organization, and these initiatives are only possible through the direct support of participating companies.
