Welcome Andy Fitzgerald!

Tell us about your life outside of the AGA

I'm fresh to Colorado! After 22 years in Idaho it was time for a change. I recently graduated from Boise State University with a B.A. in Integrated Strategic Communications. When I'm out of the office, I'm OUT of the office. I spend a lot of time hitting trails and exploring as much of this state as I can! When I'm not doing that, I'm probably working on my car, preparing for the next trip.

What is the most interesting thing you've learned about galvanizing so far?

Its sustainability! Learning how just one coating can dramatically extend the lifetime of a steel installation, reduce its maintenance schedule, and lower waste completely changed my view on the process. Clearly everyone else caught on before I did, because its everywhere!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

From the ages of 2-17 I played piano competitively. All of these competitions and events I went to ended up paying for my first 2 years of school!
