This year, October 12–15, the American Galvanizers Association (AGA) will participate in the XVIII National Congress of Civil Engineering Students (CoNEIC 2026) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, one of the country’s premier events for future civil engineers. The event is expected to bring together approximately 1,300 engineering students from across Argentina, providing AGA with a valuable opportunity to connect with the next generation of engineers and introduce them to the benefits of hot-dip galvanizing as a long-term corrosion protection solution.

AGA’s participation will focus on technical education and knowledge sharing, with presentations highlighting hot-dip galvanized (HDG) reinforcing steel, corrosion protection, durability, and sustainable infrastructure design. Discussions will address how galvanized reinforcing steel can help extend the service life of concrete structures and reduce the need for ongoing maintenance and repairs. By introducing these concepts to engineering students early in their careers, AGA hopes to build greater awareness and understanding of HDG as a practical corrosion protection option.

The event also provides an opportunity to engage directly with students, educators, and industry professionals while strengthening AGA’s presence in the Latin American engineering community. Through technical presentations and conversations focused on real-world applications, AGA will share resources and expertise that can help future engineers make informed decisions about corrosion protection and the long-term performance of steel and reinforced concrete structures.

Participation in CoNEIC 2026 is part of AGA’s continued efforts to expand technical education and industry outreach throughout Latin America. Connecting with students and emerging professionals at events such as CoNEIC helps establish relationships with future specifiers and decision-makers while supporting broader awareness of hot-dip galvanizing and its role in durable, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure.
