Notre Dame Stadium is a highly recognizable college football stadium. Notre Dame Football games are a mainstay of Saturday television during the football season. The stadium required renovations because the railings no longer met the standards for railing height.
All of the handrails and railings had to have extensions welded on and be re-galvanized to solidify its corrosion protection in the exposed environment. In order to reuse the material, all the railings were stripped of the old zinc and galvanized after the extensions were added. Reusing the steel demonstrates the sustainability of HDG and its benefits to the environment. The HDG protected steel is still strong and corrosion free, and recycling is always beneficial to our environment.
