Working with a tight turnaround time dictated by a fall kick-off event, Jack Miller Stadium needed a durable, maintenance-free corrosion protection method that would withstand the test of time. After seeing how HDG has worked for several other universities and stadiums in Ohio, the architects were convinced a galvanized steel duplex system would satisfy their needs.
In all, 85 tons of steel were galvanized, including railings, seating brackets, and all support steel.
Utilizing the duplex system meant the architects had the option to powder coat to match the Universitys school colors exactly to continue the team brand. In all, 85 tons of steel were galvanized, including railings, seating brackets, and all support steel. The materials were designed with special thought to ensure they would fit in the galvanizing kettle, and extra care was taken to provide the smoothest commercial surface possible for an easy and brilliant application of powder coating. The combined durability of a duplex system mean the Jack miller Stadium will stand attractive and corrosion-free for decades.
