The galvanizer hot-dip galvanized 168 tons (152 tonnes) of steel that was used for columns, beams, handrails and stairs for the 76-foot (23-meter) tall water slide, Juhranimo Falls, as part of the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. A galvanized coating is ideal to protect the steel from mother nature's natural corrosive forces, particularly in a water park. In the past, steel waterslides have been painted or used wood supports. Seeing the quality and durability of Juhranimo Falls should encourage others to design their rides using hot-dip galvanized supports.
