Galvanizing was specified in order to avoid inconvenient maintenance shut-downs while guaranteeing visual appeal. The entire structure excluding the fiberglass slides and tunnels, is galvanized to protect it from the inherently corrosive, continuously wet environment, and to preserve it's appearance into the future.
