Constructed in 1993, this composite, steel beam bridge with integral abutments spans the Tuscarawas River. Because of this structure's 126-ft (38-m) span and proximity to the water, a galvanized coating was specified. Although the Warmington Bridge has a matte finish due to the steel's chemistry, the coating's appearance is uniform and consistent. There are no rust stains and all bolts and connections are wearing well. Six years after construction the thickness of the galvanized coating on the nuts and bolts was measured at 5 mils (127 µm), while the coating on the structural components measured between 14 and 22 mils (356 and 559 µm). These measurements indicate many more decades of maintenance-free performance and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
