Since the first Ranger Gate was manufactured in 1990, the goal was to produce the highest quality gate and livestock feeder products to meet all expectations of the customer. This commitment to quality has allowed continual growth throughout the South.
Responding to customer requests for corrosion-resistant livestock equipment, Ranger Gate needed to design a product that would provide a durable coating, longer service life and cut cost to their customers. Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) was the clear choice for Ranger Gate. With quality in mind, HDG was specified as the corrosion protection system for the new bulk feeder products.HDG would not only provide corrosion protection, but it would also cut life cycle cost due to the low maintenance required for the HDG coating. Ranger Gate collaborated with the galvanizer to help design the products, in order to ensure the best quality galvanized finish.
These products are delivered all over the South with climates ranging from hot, wet and salty along the coastal regions to snow and ice in the Texas Panhandle. It is common for a painted steel trailer or skid to rust out after only a couple of seasons when placed in these climates. The new HDG feeders are designed to withstand the harsh climates and have a much longer service life than the traditional painted-steel products. This new design could have a significant impact on the HDG industry if manufacturers of agriculture products begin to specify HDG for more of their products .
