After being located in Lincoln, Nebraska for the past 108 years, the Nebraska State Fair was relocated to Grand Island in 2010. The new location was highly publicized and drew over 309,000 spectators in the first two weeks.
Low maintenance and high durability were the primary drivers for the Nebraska State Fair Board when determining the coating for the livestock panels, gates, and mobile support bases. This new facility will be hosting numerous livestock events throughout the years that will require a multitude of different arrangements. Hot-dip galvanized steel was the obvious choice of building material as it will be able to withstand the corrosive nature of livestock holding equipment as well as provide safety for both animals and their handlers. The Nebraska State Fair Board knew that the HDG coating will protect their investment for years to come without environmental concerns or a need to worry about any future maintenance costs.
