The Cy-Fair ISD needed facilities for vocational agriculture students to house and care for the animal projects. Because the facility is maintained by the school district, durability and low-maintenance were a high priority.
Galvanizing was the best option to meet both requirements, because it could withstand the corrosive environment of animal urine and manure and constant wash downs without the need for expensive maintenance. The use of HDG has been increasing in agriculture, and this project is a great example. Part of farm management today is employing products with a long-life and low-maintenance, HDG definitely meets both aspects. The galvanized components in the Cy-Fair Agricultural Center will ensure AG students can learn about farm management and the benefit of galvanizing in farm structures well into the future.
