Consisting of many different angles and curves, the noticeable Pedestrian and Bike overpass in Eugene, Oregon, was finished with exceptional quality to provide residents an easy connection between the west side of Interstate 5 and the shopping mall on the east side. Hot-dip galvanizing was specified because of the quick turnover and maintenance-free nature of the coating. Because the structure will need no touch-ups for over 50 years, the crossing will remain in use, uninterrupted, without the expense of maintenance. The smooth finish and protective HDG coating on the handrails will protect the steel from the outside elements and provide a safe crossing for users and passersby for decades.
