The entry gates leading into the Great Woods housing subdivision in Longview, TX, provide both security and aesthetic appeal to the residents of this beautiful community. As with any other parking structure or security gate, there is the inevitable risk of damage and scratching from vehicles, which will lead to corrosion.
Barnard Ornamental sought to provide gates that would not require costly, periodic touch-ups and repairs as a result of collisions or environmental factors.
A duplex coating system involving hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) was the obvious choice due to the synergistic effects on both the paint as well as the galvanized coating. The two coatings will work together to extend the sum of the life expectancy of both by up to 50% without sacrificing the artistic appeal of the gates.
