The city of Oshawa set out to create an incredible full size moose chia pet. The gardener planned to wrap the frame in chicken wire and fill it full of seed bearing soil. The fabricator decided to galvanize the moose because it was supposed to be in a continuously damp environment.
After the moose was galvanized, the Head of Parks Commission came to see it. They decided to no longer use it as a chia pet because they fell in love with the look of the sculpture with the hot-dip galvanized coating. The town of Oshawa ended up being so proud of the sculpture, and they moved it to Town Hall.
The city was very happy with the moose but it would not have been the sculpture it is, without the help of a galvanizer with a kettle wide enough to fit the antlers. Oshawa shows a proud representation of Canadian wildlife with their new sculpture.
