Hot-dip galvanizing was required for the Soda Springs Dam Fish By-Pass project for mostly climate and location specifications. These steel fabricated products not only have to handle the harsh environment of normal hydro/water equipment, they also have to handle rough winter conditions due to the mountainous location and high winter snow pack. This project is designed for at least 50 years of service, and it is critical the galvanizing look good and resist wear and corrosion to provide a maintenance-free system for the duration of that time.
