The integrity of steel is imperative for when it pertains to saving lives. Because the LBT Inc. takes this responsibility seriously, hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) was chosen for the ladder components, out riggers, and torque box of their fire trucks.

The decision was made to switch to HDG from paint because of paints inability to provide lasting protection in the past. HDG is perfect for the different natural environments worldwide the trucks are subject to. The trucks are exposed to extreme conditions; thus, they need an extreme coating.

While coating, the numerous angles and different geometries required excellent communication between the fabricator and galvanizer. The end result ensures there is no compromise in the quality of LBT Inc. structural truck frames. HDG will keep these trucks corrosion free allowing firefighters to safely save lives for generations to come.
