Towering 805 feet high, the Lakeview Lift at Brundage Ski Resort looks over the mountains of Idaho. When planning the Lakeview Lift, coating durability was essential as the surrounding environment is subject to severe winter weather. Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) provides corrosion protection that requires virtually zero maintenance.
HDGs initial cost is often lower than most paint systems and it is always more economical when life-cycle costs are analyzed.
Maintaining ski lifts is a difficult and time consuming task. HDGs initial cost is often lower than most paint systems and it is always more economical when life-cycle costs are analyzed. The Lakeview Lifts towers, cross arms, lifting frames, triple basket chairs, restraint bars, sheave trains, and access ladders were all galvanized. The galvanized surfaces had to be free from any roughness to allow smooth contact with the passengers. The HDG coating provided a finish that was smooth, attractive, and durable. The Uncompromised by corrosion, the Lakeview Lift at Brundage Ski Resort will continue to transport skiers and snowboarders safely to the summit of the Idahos winter playground.
