Spanning 154 feet over a waterway, the Harrison Street Bridge in Wapakoneta, Ohio, needed a corrosion protection system that would require little to no upkeep once the bridge was in place. Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel, which provides 75+ years of maintenance-free corrosion protection, was the perfect solution.
The durable galvanized coating will withstand the moist, corrosive environment while maintaining the structures integrity. Additionally, HDG steels 100% recyclability and zero emissions during use also made it a sustainable fit for the environmentally-friendly area. The galvanized bridge fits beautifully into the scenic landscape, satisfying residents and standing corrosion and maintenance-free for years to come.
