Installed in 1994, this 91' (28 m) bridge has perlins and cross beans raised up under the bridge deck in order to increase the clearance for trains passing underneath. Inspection of the bridge found all galvanized steel to be weathering extremely well. Coating thickness measured between 7.8 and 12 mils. Based on atmospheric exposure to date, the zinc coating thickness on this bridge in a Rural environment should provide a life expectancy to first maintenance of over 90 years.
