Thirty-six thousand acres of farmland are irrigated by this canal, placing a dollar figure on its construction was not a priority. Revenue to cost of construction was staggering water was temporarily pumped while the bridge canal was being constructed, making its turnover time of the utmost importance. The original dam bridge was constructed in 1913 and collapsed later in 2005; however, the galvanized elements survived 92 years before deteriorating.
This new structure is expected to survive for 75 years of operation as a main artery for farming around Grace, Idaho. This project was not only a unique structural and galvanizing experience, but a life-saving and life-giving structure for the residents and farmers of this area.
