CloseAfter the success the Michigan DOT had with galvanizing in the past, as well as the benefits of recycling existing galvanized steel in the state, the decision to galvanize and powder coat the steel on the Farm Lane Bridge was an easy one.
The design and support assistance and communication with the galvanizer was very helpful in making the bridge project a success from start to finish. Fifty tons of HDG steel make up this bridge, with everything from frame and wire mesh to tube columns being galvanized. The bridge will serve the community maintenance-free for years to come.
