Standing tall on the Indiantown Gap Military Base in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, the Fallen Warrior Memorial is a large obelisk filled with the tags of our nations fallen soldiers. The base needed a maintenance-free structure to pay homage to these brave souls, since budgetary restrictions allowed no room for costly routine upkeep.
Employing a duplex system of paint over hot-dip galvanized steel proved to be the bases best choice, considering the low life-cycle cost of maintenance-free HDG steel. The appearance of this monument was very important; by utilizing a duplex system of painted HDG steel, the galvanizers were able to coordinate with the bases color scheme. Because this was a very sentimental project, the details were carefully finished by hand. The Fallen Warrior Memorial will continue to honor fallen soldiers corrosion-free for generations to come.
