Duplex Systems Project
The duplex coating on the Galaxy Wheel in Galveston, Texas, is an eye-catcher at Landry's Pleasure Pier.
The large support tubes were removed very carefully from the kettle to ensure a uniform finish that would be easily profiled to receive the final paint coating.
Repainting will require the removal of thousands of lights on the Galaxy Wheel. The duplex coating will greatly reduce the frequency of such repairs.
The wheel is made up of an intricate lattice structure and will be protected from corrosion for decades, even in the salty, humid climate of the Gulf Coast.
The Galaxy Wheel ignites the Galveston sky and illustrates the rebirth of a legendary attraction that was decimated by tropical storms.
