Constructed from an open-work skeleton of hot dip galvanized steel into which has been placed flesh-tone granite stones, Rising Cairn becomes a dynamic juxtaposition of the crafted and the found, the cold and warm, the open and the closed. Artist Celeste Roberge chose the stones from the local beaches of Washington County, Maine and the galvanizing to symbolize the durability of the human spirit.
