Galvanized steel was specified for the Polk Station structure, in Tampa, Florida because of the low life cycle costs and proven durability. The A-frame, stands, and fasteners used to construct the station were all galvanized, giving the project a clean, rust-free look to enhance its surroundings. Located in a marine setting, the galvanized coating will provide superior barrier protection, resisting the corrosive elements of the saltwater environment. This station will remain standing, corrosion-free, for many years to come because of the durable protection of hot-dip galvanized steel.
