Lamade Stadium hosts visitors from the Little League World Series, a nationally televised event. Hot-dip galvanized steel was chosen for this stadium due to the snowy winters and extreme heat and humidity of the summer. The durable barrier and cathodic protection, working in conjunction with the zinc patina created during the galvanizing process, will protect against the elements to keep this project structurally safe and aesthetically pleasing to Little League visitors.
One hundred and thirty-five tons of columns, beams, stringers, bracing, stairs, and ramps were galvanized to protect against deterioration due to corrosion. Galvanized steel will last for decades, even as rain, snow, and sun continue their onslaught.
