The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Bethlehem got together with Architectural firm of Wallace, Roberts & Todd to turn this potential eye sore into a very popular tourist attraction. The City of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania has been very proud of their history and birth of the American Steel Industry.
They have constructed Platforms that completely wind around all of the equipment and smelting pots, inside and out. All of the material, floor beams, flooring and handrail utilizes hot-dip galvanized steel. When the Architectural Firm was asked why Galvanized Steel? He responded what kind of question is that, what else would we use?
