CloseThis art structure has been exposed to the harsh salt air environment. Initially, it was painted only and now oxidation has occurred causing paint failure. The structure is now being restored and hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) is being used to prevent future oxidation and paint failure. HDG weathers the harsh atmospheric levels of this Tropical Marine environment tenfold compared to painted steel structures only. Which in turn, will have less maintenance cost through the life of this structure.
