With well over 40,000 fans in attendance at every game, the Yankees needed a coating to protect more than six miles of hand railing at their new stadium from the throngs of fans visiting every year. The railing needed to withstand high volumes of abusive foot traffic, yet still look great for future fans.
The pollution and harsh weather conditions of New York City require a strong, corrosion-resistant and fade-proof coating, making the tough, durable barrier and cathodic protection of galvanized steel the ideal choice. By carefully communicating with the galvanizer, a high-quality, solid coating was achieved to ensure uniform standards were met throughout the project in a very affordable manner. The sustainability and recyclability of steel also made HDG a perfect coating choice for the home of one of baseballs most decorated teams.
