The Sculpture, “Princeps Perficientur” (Latin for High Performance), as depicted by “the wheels of law grind slowly but relentlessly." This commission came from a high-performance law firm that wanted a company sign created that utilized the firm’s logo. This creation is a piece of art that reflects the firm’s solid and dependable structure.
"After galvanizing we painted each piece individuality with a two-part marine grade epoxy reassembled and shipped and installed in Houston’s Heights community."
The law office requested a similar but colorful, attention-grabbing work for their Houston location.
As with all the sculptures from this artist and creator, this piece incorporates substantial machinery or working parts from such equipment. In this instance, the massive rock saw blade painted teal with a urethane epoxy, intended to communicate calm, comfort, and knowledge. The blade is juxtaposed and floating against an orange background of conveyor assemblies representing determination and strength.
The orange epoxy was chosen to match the law firm’s logo, an orange rectangle intersected by the well-known initials of the firm’s general partners. The thick aluminum letters of the law.
Every piece of the sculpture was sandblasted, cut, assembled, and then taken apart for it to be galvanized. The decision to galvanize the sculpture was easy as its location is in Houston and proximity to the Gulf Coast.
