CloseHot Dip Galvanized Steel was specified in this project for its superior maintenance free corrosion protection. The coating's dull gray finish is appealing to give the look of a more natural finish that blends in well with the neighborhood the building was installed in.
The local galvanizer was able to single dip the pieces to facilitate a better product from a quality control standpoint. This allowed for larger pieces to be fabricated in the shop eliminating field welding which also contributed to a much better quality product. Having the material fabricated in larger pieces also facilitated in a quicker erection time, saving the owner money.
