CloseHot-dip galvanizing (HDG) provides a very important feature to this project, in particular, product lifetime protection. HDG eliminates the need to provide constant maintenance of the lamps over the entire product life-cycle that is necessary with other coatings such as paint and powder coating. It is also competitive with these alternatives in terms in initial costs. Furthermore, the quick turnaround time and hands-on care provided by the galvanizer allowed Whitesmith to preserve all of their precious shop hours for other projects with no fear of lost time on the lamps.
