The Neptune Series Marina Forklifts are designed to place small yachts and boats from storage into the ocean or vice versa. The forklifts raise the boats nearly eight feet in the air before gently placing them into the water.
The forklifts are highly visible to the boating community.
Being used to lift boats in and out of the water, the forklift is exposed to salt water environments on a continuous basis. This facilitated a need to have the forks hot-dip galvanized for corrosion protection to resist the elements and maintain a professional, aesthetically pleasing look. The forklifts are highly visible to the boating community. Some of the parts are galvanized and others painted.
The carriage assembly and the twenty foot long forks are dipped in HDG, as well as the overhead guard. Special design features necessitated holes on the forks to prevent ball bearings from being galvanized, and while this was difficult initially, the forks were galvanized with success. To extend the life of the forklifts, the galvanized parts of the carriage assembly were painted, providing a long-lasting, durable and visually appealing product that will enjoy decades of corrosion protection.
