Nashville Bike Racks

As part of the city's green and healthy living initiatives, Metro Arts commissions local and regional artists to design bicycle racks. The first round of artist-designed bike racks was installed in downtown Nashville and adjacent neighborhoods in the spring of 2010. Seven additional artist-designed bike racks, 6 of which were galvanized prior to powder coating, have been installed this year. The bike racks are placed in various high visibility locations throughout the metro area. Each artist was given the ability to express their their artistic tastes, while incorporating themes central to Nashville. Green living, nature, and the gift of music to the world are all expressed in this year's designs.
