A modern and streamlined web of structural supports drape the exterior walls of the Motor City Casino in Detroit. Ruled by a tight construction schedule, hot-dip galvanizing the supports made for quick turnaround.
The galvanizing process is executed in indoor facilities, so delivery will not be delayed by weather or other environmental concerns. As the supports cover the tall exterior walls of the casino, it was important to the specifier to choose a corrosion protection system that would be durable and require little maintenance. Hot-dip galvanized steel can go decades without touch-up or repair, and so was a reasonable choice to protect the building from the damaging and costly effects of corrosion.
