Grain merchandising company, Hansen-Mueller Company, recently completed a new feed processing plant in Fremont, Nebraska. Hansen-Mueller Company started in feed commodity trading in 1979 and today they operate grain elevators and processing mills across the Midwest. The company wanted its new feed processing plant designed to stand the test of time. Understanding that value was important to them as far as life cycle costs, the fabricator, Habco, Inc., chose to use hot dip galvanizing in the application. Habco, Inc. has a long history of using HDG in several projects, typically for large grain handling applications. For the value Hansen-Mueller was demanding, hot dip galvanizing was the answer.
The fabricator worked closely with the galvanizer throughout the entire project to ensure the smooth transfer of steel to and from the galvanizer to the job site. Communication and coordination were key to the timely completion of the project as weather delays were seemingly constant.
Hansen-Mueller is pleased with their new plant and the use of hot dip galvanizing in its construction. The company can rest assured there will be no surprises in maintenance costs for many years as the durability of the galvanized steel is unmatched.
