H2OBX in Powells Point is a state of the art water park designed and themed after the Outer Banks relaxed and scenic environment paying tribute to the legendary local pirates, boat building and Wright brothers. The waterpark sprawls across 20 plus acres along US 158 offering inbound and outbound Outer Banks tourism traffic a view of the massive sliding structure towers.
Many of the parks 30 attractions are first to market innovations including "Calico Jacks" a multi level pirate ship themed duplex coated play/slide structure which boasts a 300 gallon tipping bucket.
Every steel component in the construction and function of the water park was galvanized and or duplex coated. Located just off the Atlantic ocean, galvanizing was the only coating choice due to the parks proximity to the ocean protecting the structure for future generations.
Opened in June 2017 the H2OBX waterpark is expected to employ 300 seasonal workers and accomodate crowds up to 5000 people every day.
