The Yacht Club Cove Homeowners Association Inc., consisting of 84 homes, replaced the previous 5-foot-wide wooden, floating docks with aluminum docks in a new alignment. The new docks are a combination of 4-foot-wide floating finger docks and 6-foot-wide fixed docks. The existing 4-inches-in-diameter piles were removed and replaced with 3-1/2-inches-in-diameter hot-dip galvanized steel helical piles under the new fixed docks.

Supported by 156 galvanized 3 ½" helical piles, this fixed dock system was installed in the spring and has proven to be a great solution for the site. The hot-dip galvanized helical piles, fabricated in upstate NY, were installed by barge from the water. The decision to galvanize the helical piles was easy as they are driven into the watery edges of Canandaigua Lake to host the new aluminum boat docks. This rapid solution is very effective for projects with foundations in marine environments.
