The engineer on this project is a pro-galvanizing guy. He like the aesthetics as it contrast with the lumber used. Especially after both has weathered. He believes in the corrosion protection and the maintenance free added benefit he gets when specifying Hot Dip Galvanized material.
He also mentioned he is does not have the time needed to keep up with the different paints available and the State to State regulations for the different paints.
This Amusement ride billed as a "All Wooden Roller Coaster" had over 350 tons of galvanized steel.
