CloseThe South Bend Silverhawks had only 12 days between the regular season games and the all star break. That was the time allowed to install the new railings and drink rail in Coveleski Stadium. Still they wanted the corrosion protection of hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) to be included. With constant use and acidic drinks that will inevitably spill on the drink rail HDG was the only choice for corrosion protection. The smooth galvanized surface top-coated with paint for aesthetics made a perfect pair.
