This 170,000-square-foot addition is Michigan’s biggest indoor waterpark. Guests can look forward to 16 waterslides, a not-so-lazy river, a huge wave pool, private cabanas, the state’s first swim-up bar, and plenty of other fun features. The park was opened at the end of March, just in time for spring break and an exciting summer season!
"This project is a true testament to our commitment to creating enjoyable experiences for all ages and now it’s time to make a splash!" Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge said on Facebook.
As part of a $90 million expansion to the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, MI, the new 170,000-square-foot Bavarian Blast Indoor Waterpark required robust and corrosion-resistant structural support for both its extensive exterior slide tower and interior aquatic features. Over 50 tons of steel was fabricated and hot-dip galvanized for this project, to ensure maximum durability and resistance to corrosion from constant moisture exposure, chlorine, and temperature fluctuations. The galvanized steel supports not only serve a critical structural role but also contribute to the project’s long-term value by reducing maintenance costs and extending lifespan in this highly corrosive environment. The decision to galvanize was instrumental in creating a safe, sustainable, and visually polished attraction for generations of visitors.
