Wind power is becoming an increasingly popular method for alternative energy. The Barton Wind Farm in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, utilized hot-dip galvanized steel for the structure rafters, roof beams, and tower rafter parts of the giant wind turbines throughout the farm. Hot-dip galvanized steel is a fully sustainable building material because zinc is a naturally occurring element and is 100% recyclable, an added bonus to an already environmentally conscious practice. These giant wind turbines will stand tall as a testament to the variety of sustainable options for future alternative energy sources.
