Logan Park

The Massachusetts Port Authority wanted to protect the steel in Logan Park and knew it needed a strong coating because of the park’s proximity to the water and the aggressive Massachusetts winter. The Port Authority decided on a duplex system of hot-dip galvanizing and paint because of its superior corrosion protection. All 860 tons of structural steel fencing was hot-dip galvanized and then painted. The pieces required a smooth galvanized finish and paint coating because of the nature of the intended use. The duplex coating will provide superior corrosion protection and aesthetic appeal for the popular, public park for generations.
